PICTURES!!!!

Well...at least one of a cupcake ;) This is from a batch of peppermint cupcakes I made this week. Chocolate peppermint cupcakes with chocolate chunks and peppermint flavored frosting with crushed candy canes on top, a bit self explanatory I guess...
Anyway, the REAL news of the week is the birth of my most beautiful and favorite niece in the world! Just wait, you are about to be blown away by her beauty:
AHHHH!! Just makes you wanna pinch those cheeks!! :) So right now the whole family, including myself, is obsessing over her...I mean really, can you blame us??
In other news..Eric took me to Chicago after Thanksgiving to celebrate our anniversary. While we were there he spoiled me rotten! We got to eat at Superdawgs, which has been featured on the Food Network for their hot dogs, and Giordano's, which has Chicago style deep dish pizza to die for!
I love this picture of the skyline reflected in the Bean!
 Our reflection in the Bean
 I miss it already : (

Superdawg!!
All in all I am one very lucky and well fed girl ;)
Ok ok, so back to cupcakes.. I just had another order placed for Christmas which is for pumpkin with maple cream cheese frosting, banana nut, and Italian cream cupcakes. And I promise to take pictures of each batch, and I will also experiment with some before then too. So if you are wondering what to buy someone for Christmas, just buy them some cupcakes! :) I can't wait to try some new flavors and take some new pictures. I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and is having a wonderful Christmas season!
Stay sassy...and eat something sweet!

First official order!

Woohoo! After baking some cupcakes for a family member's party, I have been hired to make some Pumpkin cupcakes with maple cream cheese frosting for someone...As in an actually paying customer! : ) I'm very pleased with all of the positive feedback I have gotten. I tried taking some pictures of the cupcakes...but basically I suck as a photographer...SO I will be recruiting my cousin to take some on Thanksgiving. In the meantime, a picture of the award winning couples costume from Halloween:

The Joker and "Poison...Poison Ivy"! We had so much fun with this and it was definitely worth the time spent on getting it all together!
So with Thanksgiving coming up I just keep thinking that I have so much to be thankful for! I am thankful for Eric, a WONDERFUL boyfriend, who is hardworking, easy going, makes me smile, and tells me I'm beautiful at least once a day. I am so thankful for my family, I love having a family that gets together so often and has so much fun just being with each other.  I'm thankful for my close relationship with my sister, who has always been and always will be my best friend. I'm thankful for Hayden, who will be joining us shortly!! I am also thankful for my loved ones who aren't here anymore that remind me to be thankful for each precious day that I can spend with my loved ones here on Earth. A non-blood related best friend of eight years, my sweet little Laila bear, and my job. With so much to be thankful for, I can't wait for thanksgiving...Okay okay, and the FOOD! :) I hope everyone has a happy and safe Thanksgiving!
Sending sweet thoughts,
Suzanne

Feeling more sassy than sweet : /

So I said that I would be putting up pictures soon (which I am dying to do), however, UPS has different plans. Apparently the supplies I ordered over a week ago have been delivered....Funny, because I haven't found any adorably sweet cupcake liners or pretty little sprinkles to dust my cupcakes with or waiting for me on my doorstep. So now I am forced to "speak with" the customer service representative(robot) from UPS who has told me that my package cannot be found...Aaargh! Oh well, for the sake of adding a little sweetness into this post I thought I might expand a little on who I am! I suppose I should start by saying that I LOVE food and even more I love to see people eating my food! I have a wonderful boyfriend of four years, Eric, and no: we are not engaged yet! We have a 3 yr old lab/chow pup, Laila, who is more sass than sweet (maybe like her momma!). I am now and forever will be obsessed with my niece..who hasn't made her entrance yet, but is just dying to meet me :). My full time job is as a nanny for a great family of five, which I adore. I am currently taking a break from classes at Indiana University where I am in my fourth year of a degree in Psychology. So that's a little about me! My next post will hopefully be some pictures of Halloween cupcakes I'm making and our Halloween costumes of course!
Until then stay sassy!

Getting Started

Hi everyone! After receiving some very sweet compliments at a baby shower this weekend, I have decided to start baking cupcakes for parties and events. At this point I'm just trying to figure out flavors, and pricing (and honestly, how to use a blog!). I plan on baking for parties like birthdays, anniversaries, showers, bachelorette, as well as events like weddings, business meetings, family reunions and pretty much anything else! Let me know if you are in need of some cupcakes. and remember, I am new to all of this so please have patience with me as I learn :)
Stay sassy,
Suzanne
